Services

The Ottawa Pastoral Centre welcomes all those seeking care, providing psychotherapy in a pastoral context to individuals, couples and families. It was founded in the belief that psychotherapy for those with a wide range of needs is an essential and necessary ministry of the Christian community.

A fee is charged for the Ottawa Pastoral Centre's services. However the Centre's budget provides for some reduced fee therapy. The Centre's services are
covered by most health insurance plans. Please call us at 613-235-2516 for more information about fees.

In the Ottawa Pastoral Centre, therapy is provided by four psychotherapists, a clinical supervisor and a clinical co-ordinator. An Intake Worker and an Executive Director support the work of the therapists.

All the psychotherapists are skilled care-givers. Judith Brooks and Sharon York are CCC (Canadian Certified Counsellors). Alexa Delroy is a clinical member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists. All of our psychotherapists work under the supervision of a Registered Clinical Psychologist, Dr. Brenda Saxe.

The Ottawa Pastoral Centre welcomes those requiring psychotherapy for such issues as:
Depression
Anxiety
Marriage and family
Trauma, including sexual trauma
Grief, bereavement and loss
Addictions, including alcohol, sexual and gambling addictions
Sexual identity
Sress and stress management
Body image and eating disorders
Life changes, e.g. aging and retirement
The OPC seeks to care for all those who come to the Centre. However, situations involving medical or psychiatric issues, long-term psychotherapy for persons actively addicted, or ongoing domestic violence are referred to other specialists who can provide more effective care.

In addition, the OPC is an Employee Assistance Plan provider for a number of non-governmental organizations and corporations in the National Capital Region. The Centre also provides general assessment and referral services.

Group work is also offered, on request, for issues such as: separation and divorce, grief, self image and body image
